Recently we and a group of friends spent the day at the local water park. The kids had an absolute blast riding the water slides, the wave pool, splash areas and just all kinds of water fun. Summer at its finest for sure.

Mid-day we took a quick break to have lunch. While sitting there, as any good friend would do, I offered my friends a piece of gum. Before I knew it, I looked over to see this: Do you see what I see? Not one, but two bubbles! Oh and one incredibly cute sleepy baby. I wasn't the only one that saw this awesomeness. So did this girl! With the cutest missing tooth smile, MWH Girl asked me if she could have a piece of gum and if I would teach her how to blow a bubble. I mean, who can turn that sweet face away? This Summer is all about fun, so I gave her a "OF COURSE!"
That's when all the adults decided it was our mission to teach this girl to blow a bubble.
First off, you have to have the right gum. Juicy Fruit came out with a new Juicy Fruit Fruity Chew gum this month. Its sugar free and soft to chew (perfect for bubbles) and can be found at the check out at your local Walmart.
Second, HAVE FUN! Its Summer, and blowing bubbles are fun, so don't take it too seriously.
Alright, here's how it went down. We all starting chewing and showing her that you needed to chew till it was smooth. Once you have it well chewed, you stick your tongue into the middle of the gum piece and out your mouth, then start to blow air into it.
MWH Dad was getting in on the action.
I had a pretty good size bubble going. Please disregard the smeared makeup selfie 🙂
Before we knew it we had everyone blowing bubbles including:This little girl! It was a one time occurrence and I'm pretty sure we need to keep working on building up our little kid jaw to get the chewing down, but we had some air and it made it all worth while! WOOHOO!!! The rest of the day, we all walked around with a little bit bigger smile thinking about the bubble fun break and the look on her face when it happened. Made for a great day at the water park and that much more FUN!
Do you have a secret to teaching littles to blow bubbles? We could always use some more tips.
HAPPY SUMMER FRIENDS!
