San Diego has a number of fun pumpkin patches, but our favorite is Bate's Nut Farm.
Its located in North San Diego in a town called Valley Center. Its up a slightly windy hill from Escondido. Its still one of the more country towns in San Diego. There are many homes in valley center that have room for groves (avocado, oranges, etc.) and or horses. They grow pumpkins all year long and have quite the display come Fall.
Places like Bates Nut Farm brings out a nostalgia in me that is pretty intense. I just love the idea of a family farm that brings such joy to San Diego familes all year long. The best part is that it is an actually nut farm like its name, so there are areas where you can purchase nuts and other handmade good.
It has a petting zoo and pony rides that the kids adore.
They also have hay rides and a corn maze. Since I ventured over to the farm by myself with the littles, I stuck to pony rides and petting zoo. We went up later in the season with our cousins and rode the hay ride and had so much fun.Do you have a pumpkin patch by you like our beloved Bate's Nut Farm? What are some of your favorite Fall activities?
