It’s the month of love and what better theme to have for February than “Pretty in Pink?” Love it! I also love the bag, it’s super cute! I was excited to receive a full size item in my bag this month, which doesn’t always happen. If you want to learn about what I got, how much they’re retailing for, and how they worked, then just keep reading…
This month I was excited to see that I had one item that didn’t fit into the glam bag. It was the Anti-Gravity + Hydration O2 Weightless Oil + Lifting Tonic by Ogx Beauty. I’ll be honest here and say that although I was excited to receive a full size product, I was slightly disappointed to see what it was. I have super thick hair and I don’t really need to add any extra volume. I actually want the opposite, most days. So I put off trying this product until I was feeling that my hair was a little flatter than usual. And what do you know, I washed my hair with the hotel shampoo and conditioner in Vegas this week and bam, flat hair. So I decided to give this a try, since I figured this would be my only chance to get the full use out of it. First of all, this product smells AMAZING. It smells like a tropical vacation. If you don’t buy it for anything else, buy it for the smell! Seriously, it’s so good. As for lifting and adding volume to my hair, EH. I sprayed about 6-8 sprays onto my hair around the roots and massaged in it and shook my hair around a little but I didn’t really notice a huge difference. The website does say that it adds a “subtle lift” so I guess it did that. It also claims to make your hair shiny which I actually did notice but I didn’t pay attention to how long the shine lasted. It could be because my hair is so heavy that it didn’t really work that well, but who knows, it might be intended to work great for people with thin hair, anyway. But A++ for the smell! $7.79 for the full size (pictured).
The next item I want to talk about is the Pink Gel Coat from Perfect Formula that claims to strengthen, brighten, and protect. At first, I was so excited about this product because I’m constantly working with my hands and keeping a nail polish in tact for longer than 24 hours is a struggle. This gel coat did offer extra protection, but not as long as I would have liked. And definitely not something I would purchase since it is $30 and you get less than an ounce of product. I will say that, yes, it kept my polish on longer than it would normally last but only by a couple of days. Nice to have, but wouldn’t recommend because of the price.
Sticking with the pink theme, I got this SUPER SPARKLY Sparkling Lipgloss from Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind. OHMYGOD. When she says “Sparkling” lipgloss, she really means SPARKLING. I cannot convey this message any louder and clearer. This little guy is SPARKLY. Honestly, when I first applied it, a feeling of amazement came over me and I was so impressed with the pigment and the glam. After I looked at my face as a whole I realized that this product was never going to work for me. Okay, I shouldn’t say never. Maybe for a New Year’s Eve party. But it is just So. Sparkly. Like seriously, if you’re looking for the sparkliest, glitteriest lipgloss out there, here it is. Order now. It is SO FREAKING SPARKLY. Okay, you get the point. Very impressive but I don’t see how I could pull it off. I really wish I could, though, because it is a really pretty gloss. Full size is $21.
Moving on to another sparkly item… I got the Argan Enlightenment Illumanizing Wand by Josie Maran. First off, I think mine is defective because the cap will not stay on tightly and I can’t twist the product down, I have to literally push it back down with my finger. But other than that, I like it! I did find that one stroke of this will do and anymore than that will just drag your foundation and any other products underneath it around. Not a good look. I swiped it on the high points of my cheeks and then blended it out with my finger. Blending it did make the highlight slightly dimmer but I still think it’s a great little product. And the color is gorgeous. There aren’t any other colors to choose from but this one is a soft goldish tone with shimmer. The full size is $28.
Last but not least, I received the Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer by IT Cosmetics. I got mine in the shade Neutral Medium, which I think matches my skin tone very well. I was really excited to try this because I’ve been in the market for some high-end concealers. I’ve been looking around but I just cannot bring myself to spend $30 on a concealer when I can spend $8 on my favorite drugstore one that I KNOW will do the job. First, you need to know that with this product, a little goes A LONG WAY. Seriously, I squeezed out about 3 dots and started applying it under one of my eyes and realized I had enough product for probably both eyes. It is very full coverage without looking cakey, which I love. As for not creasing or staying on all day, I can’t say yet because I haven’t used it long enough. The website claims that it won’t crease like other concealers, so I’m excited about that. I can say that it was very brightening! But I do look forward to trying this one out more because I think it will work really well! Full size is $24.
I hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for next month!
