IPSY has arrived!! My favorite package to receive every month!! This month, the theme was “Sugar Highness” which made me think of pinks and glowiness and all things girly. I LOVED one of the 5 items I received so much that it is now my favorite of all the ones I have! Read more to find out which one I’m raving about!
Jelly Pong Pong Neapolitan Eyeshadow Palette $18 – Unfortunately this first item was a dud for me. It was completely awful but I knew I would never be reaching for it so I already gave it away. The first reason is because that it is suuuuper powdery. Even the swatches were powdery. Don’t get me wrong, the colors are great, but the formula just sucks. I LOVED the lightest shade and I even tried to use it as a highlight because it was super glowy and pigmented but it just didn’t blend on my cheekbones at all. Once I applied it, it wasn’t moving. So basically, I was left with a gold stripe on my face. Not cool. Definitely not worth $18.
Beau Gachis Pari Pro Series Applicator Sponge Duo $23 – Okay, you didn’t have to wait very long… This one is my favorite item, not only out of this glam bag, but it’s become my favorite sponge for applying foundation! I love this little guy. (It isn’t completely dry in the pictures, so it is slightly smaller once dry). Unfortunately I can’t compare it to the Beauty Blender because I’ve never used one but out of all my beauty sponges, it does the best job! It’s very soft and it does expand to a really nice size once you dampen it. The “squeezability” is amazing. It’s sort of like those Tempur Pedic mattresses almost, where you squeeze it and it slooowly goes back out. I love it!
Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Basics Brassica Seed & Shea Oils Silkening Blow Out Creme $26 – You don’t understand how excited I was when I saw this. My hair is so damaged and dry that the word “silkening” brought me hope! I tried this THREE times. Every time, sadly, I was disappointed. I thought that maybe the first two times I didn’t apply enough so the third time I applied a pretty generous amount and it made it even worse. First off, each time it seemed to make my hair FRIZZIER if you can believe that. I have no idea why or how but once my hair was completely dry it was even frizzier than it normally is. The last time that I used it and I applied a lot of the product, it actually make my hair feel thicker (not what I want) and kind of sticky feeling. It felt like I applied a lot of hair spray in some parts. Horrible product for me.
Beaute Basics 3 Toned Bronzer $??? – I could not find this product anywhere, other than the IPSY website. If I wanted to buy it, I’d be SOL because apparently it only exists in the IPSY world. Therefore, I have no idea how much it would cost, even if you could buy it. Anyway… I really liked this! Other than the unfortunate tiny size of the pan, I love this as a glowy bronzer!! It did give a little bit of color but mostly a gold sheen, which I really liked. It wasn’t as light as a highlighter though, and still looked flattering around the edges of my face and on my cheeks where I normally apply bronzer. I swirl all three colors together because it would be impossible to use only one at a time (too small). But overall, I really liked this for an overall tan, glowy, sunkissed look!!
