Happy New Year-ish! I hope your first month of 2017 was filled with happiness and relaxing! I got my first IPSY bag of the year! I do have a secret to share with you, though… I’m thinking about cancelling my subscription. It’s not that I don’t enjoy IPSY, because I really do, but it seems that I’ve been getting a few repeats or close similarities in the products from month to month. I know it’s only $10 but I kind of want to try a new one–like Boxy Charm maybe?–I’m not sure yet. If you have any suggestions, let me know! But for now, here’s IPSY…
Pacifica Blushious Coconut & Rose Infused Cheek Color $12 – I wasn’t a huge fan of this blush mostly because it didn’t blend very well. It was also a little too sparkly for my liking and the formula wasn’t great. It was kind of patchy and clung to certain areas of my cheeks which was really weird. Definitely not worth $12.
theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer, Shadow, & Contour Powder $20 – I’ll probably end up giving this product away, not because I didn’t like it, but because I already have the full size. Pictured here is my full size next to the sample that IPSY sent. I do really love this product for contouring the face. When I first bought it, it was all I used for a solid month, at least. It’s the perfect tone, as far as cool and warm goes. It’s right in between! It’s very pigmented and velvety and easy to work with, in moderation. Don’t go in heavy handed though or you’ll regret it! I’ve also used it as a crease color on my eyes and it works great, there, too!
It! Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illuminating Anti-Aging Concealer $24 – Okay, so I was realllly excited about this only to be left confused and let down! (So dramatic, I know). I have the original Bye Bye Under Eye and I absolutely love it! This one definitely did brighten the crap out of my under eye area, which I loved, but it was extremely cakey and clung to my dryness! 🙁 Someone suggested mixing it with an oil but I’d rather not put an oil on my skin, especially near my pores where it would get clogged. I still use it for the brightening effect but I use only a tiny bit and I use it along with my Maybelline Fit Me!
Rimmel London Lip Conditioning Balm by Kate Moss $5.50 – This product was just kind of “ehh” for me. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t all that great either. The packaging is really pretty though! It didn’t wow me in the moisturizing category but it wasn’t terrible either. I’ll probably still use it but only because I don’t want to waste a lip balm!
Pur~lisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant $52 – Literally after one use of this, I was hooked. I could visibly tell that my pores had been completely cleaned out! I also liked the tingly feeling it gave my skin because that’s how I knew it was actually doing something. Normally after masks like this, your skin feels stripped and dry but somehow this mask didn’t do that for me! My skin felt smooth, clean, and soft. Loved it!
