Applying things to my face, make me HAPPY… cosmetic things, obviously. 🙂 I love it even more when I can find a great product for less than $10 or $15 the drugstore. Don’t get me wrong, I love splurging once in a while on some good high-end products but I tend to experiment more with drugstore brands for obvious reasons.
I chose 8 solid products that I LOVE from the drugstore. From foundations to concealers to mascara. (Now, I must say that Maybelline has some really great products that I love but I tried not to make all 8 from them).
#1. e.l.f. Cosmetics Blush & Bronzing Powder – Okay, I love this little duo from elf! I bought this when I first started discovering my love for makeup. I figured it was perfect because I didn’t have to spend an hour to find the perfect blush shade, it was already right there with my bronzer. The colors were great for my skin tone! I don’t know if they look great on everyone but for me, they were perfect! This gem is only $3. (As is basically everything else by this brand).
#2. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – This stuff is amazing. I love my lashes to look as big, long, curly, black, and thick as possible!! This one does the trick. I used to layer a couple of different mascaras to get my desired look but now I can just use this bad boy all by itself and achieve an even bolder look! The shape of the wand is what lengthens and helps curl the lashes. For even more length I apply it to my lashes while slowly blinking down onto the wand. Two coats works the magic just fine but sometimes I’ll go for three. $7 for this.
#3. Revlon CoverStay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin – BEST. DRUGSTORE FOUNDATION. EVER. Not kidding you, this is by far my favorite drugstore foundation, without a doubt. I cannot tell you how great this is. This is the perfect full coverage foundation and I love the formula. It’s so smooth and applies so easily and it matches my skin better than any other foundation I’ve had. (I’m in the shade 330 Natural Tan). Highly, HIGHLY recommend this one. $10 at the drugstore.
#4. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment & Concealer – Okay, now that I’ve caught my breath… Ha, I never realized how long the name was until this post. Anyway, this is probably my absolute favorite concealer of all time. Yes, ALL TIME. It is just amazing and it does all the right things. It’s great at covering my dark circles and any blemishes that I need to spot conceal. The sponge on the end makes for easy application and I just blend it out with my beauty blender afterward. This one is $7.
#5. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – This is a new find for me. I purchased it about a month ago but I just started using it a couple weeks ago. I love this powder for mattifying my face. I have naturally oily skin so in the summer it is definitely intensified. This product takes away any unwanted shine but somehow still lets a little glow come through which I love! Around $4 at the drugstore.
#6. e.l.f Cosmetics Concealer – This concealer definitely surprised me. Honestly, I didn’t expect much from it because I haven’t heard anyone raving about it. Actually, I never heard anyone talk about it at all before. I decided to pick it up just to try something new and I’m so glad I did! It works great and doesn’t dry me out, which I’ve found that a couple other drugstore concealers do. It doesn’t get cakey or anything throughout the day, either. And the best part, again, it’s only $3.
#7. Maybelline Fit Me! Matte & Poreless Foundation – I discovered this gem a few months ago when I decided I wanted a lighter foundation that was still medium-full coverage. I still love my Revlon ColorStay but this foundation was screaming summer. It feels so light but covers everything that I need it to. I grabbed the Matte & Poreless version which is for normal to oily skin types. I love it so far! This is what I’ve been reaching for the most this summer on days when I want to wear a full face of makeup. This is around $6.
#8. Neutrogena Skinclearing Mineral Powder – I bought this product sometime last year because I heard a few different bloggers and YouTubers talking about how great it was for oily and acne prone skin. I LOVE IT! It keeps me looking totally matte and feels like I’m not putting on anything! I hit pan on this guy a couple months ago but he’s still going strong! Plus, it has an ingredient in it that helps prevent acne so that’s always a plus. This is the most expensive product on my list at $12. But totally worth it!
