Pour 1 cup of red candy melts and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil into a medium bowl. Microwave for 1 minute at 50% power. Carefully remove from microwave and slowly stir. Candy melts will not be fully melted. Put back in the microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power and stir. Repeat for 15-second intervals at 50% power, careful not to overheat until fully melted and has a smooth honey-like texture. If needed add 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and stir.
Lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and grab a bowl of your mini marshmallows
At a diagonal, dip half of the rice cereal treat into the mixture allowing the excess to drip off, and place it on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Add one mini marshmallow to the top corner.
When all rice cereal treats are dipped and mini marshmallows are placed, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 5 minutes to set.
While rice cereal treats are setting in the refrigerator, melt ¼ cup of white candy melts (or white chocolate chips) and ½ teaspoon of coconut oil in the microwave for 1 minute at 50% power. Repeat for 15-second intervals at 50% power, careful not to overheat until fully melted and a smooth honey-like texture. Remove the set of treats from the refrigerator
Place a disposable piping bag in a cup or jar.
Pour melted white chocolate into the piping bag and carefully cut off the tip of the bag.
Add chocolate “fur” trim to the base of the red chocolate like the bottom of Santa hats
Place decorated treats on a lined baking sheet and set them in the refrigerator for 5 minutes to harden.
