- 4 cups bird seed
- ¾ cups flour
- ½ cups water
- 3 tablespoons corn syrup
- 1 packet of unflavored gelatine
- string or twine
- bowl
- wax paper
Start with your birdseed into a big bowl.
Combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix till fully combined.
Using a spoon or your hands, gently push the birdseed mixture into the cookie cutter. Fill the cookie cutter to the top. If you have metal cookie cutter, feel free to spray the inside using cooking spray, so they do not stick to the cookie cutter.
Lay onto a piece of wax paper or piece of parchment.
Insert a straw to poke a hole towards the top so that once it hardens you can hang it. Repeat till you've made enough for your class or the birdseed is used up. Let dry overnight.
Cut your thread approximately 1 foot. Then thread through the hole, and tie the ends together in a knot.
If you are going to make these into a Valentine, then add your printable note before tying the knot.
Once its dried, viola you have yourself the cutest little non-candy valentines.
