First, print out the free drawing lesson below and follow along. Grab a piece of paper and a pencil. remember as part of the drawing process, draw each step with light lines first.
The first step is to draw the tiger's head. We like to think of the tiger head as an upside-down tomato. The top of the head is a bit flat and the bottom has three slight curves.
Next, draw the tiger's body. Two curved lines come from each side of the bottom of the tiger's head down and curve under. Create a curved shape to make each of the front paws.
Our cute cartoon tiger is sitting and so the next step is to draw the hind legs. Draw each hind leg coming out the side of each of the tiger's body. You can draw two lines up the front of the paws. These distinct the front legs from the front of the tiger's body.
Next, we're drawing the cute ears of the tiger. Draw two half circles off each side of the head to make each ear. A fun fact is that tigers have false eyes on the back of their ears. They have white spots on the backside of their ears that look like a tiger eye that scares off predators.
The next step is to draw the tail. A small curved line off the backside of the tiger's body.
Step 6 is to draw the v neckline on the front of the tiger's body. Then a small circles in the middle of each hind paw.
The next step is to draw the tiger's face. I like to start with two small lines in the center of the face as the bridge of the nose of the tiger. At the tip of the nose draw a small heart shape for the nose. Then draw two circle shapes on each side of the nose for the front of the mouth. Connect the two circles to the bottom of the tiger head to create the bottom lip. The last piece of the tiger's face is to draw in the eyes. Small circles for the inside of the eye sockets.
Next is to draw the tiger stripes all over the tiger's body. Small leaf-like shapes from the top of the tiger, and the outside lines of the body and through the tiger's chest and tail.
Next, go over each of your light lines with darker final lines to complete your tige
The last step is to color in your tiger drawing. Using, crayons, pencils, markers, or acrylic paints. They will each will bring your own tiger sketch to life.
