Start by cutting out a wreath shape out of the cardboard. We recommend tracing two different size plates to form the shape. If you do not have cardboard, you can also use a paper plate and cut out the middle of the paper plate.
Wrap your wreath shape with kraft paper strips. In the case you don't have kraft paper, use wrapping paper, or even construction paper. Cut it in the paper into strips and wrap it to cover the entire wreath form. Glue down the kraft paper using a small amount of white glue or even glue dots.
Download the poinsettia flower template at the bottom of the page. We have included both a color template of traditional red and green as well as a blank template that you can create your own Christmas wreaths in whatever color you desire.
Cut out each of the template pieces and trace and cut out the circle piece out of the kraft paper.
Fold each of the flower petals and leaves in half length-wise
Place glue over one side of the circle piece.
Next, glue the flower petals to the circle with the base of the petals across from each other. Glue two petals on top of those going across.
Glue an additional four petals to the top of the previous four petals, but glued down in the corner of the other four petals.
Next, glue the three leaves to the bottom of the flower.
We then cut a small square and a small circle out of the kraft paper and or green paper. Glue those into the middle of the poinsettia flower.
Glue the three poinsettia flowers in one corner of the wreath. This makes for a beautiful paper wreath.
From there, some optional embellishments include small twigs, pom poms, stickers, sequences, or a million different creative ideas you might have. Regardless of what you add... viola, the end result is the cute Paper Christmas
