The first step is the curved lines to create the front of the fish. Start with one slightly curvy line that creates a simple nose shape. The second line starts slightly under the bottom part of the line and draw slightly curving down and to the right.
Next, draw a slightly curved line from the top of the first line to the end of the second line. This should create the fish's face.
For the body of your fish, draw a simple half-circle or arch from the top of the fish to the bottom of the fish
Next, is to draw on the tail of the fish. The easiest way is to draw a diagonal line up and out the top portion of the end of the fish. Then draw a second line down and out the bottom portion of the end of the fish. Draw a third line connecting the two lines with a slight v in the middle.
The next step is to draw the dorsal fin or the top fin. A simple arched line at the top of the fish is great.
The next step is to draw the pectoral fin or the side fin. Simply draw a backward C right after the line marking the fish's face on the sides of the fish.
It's now time to draw the fish eye. Draw one bigger larger circle with a smaller circle inside it at the top portion of the fish's face.
The last step is to add fish scales and a little detail to the fins. Small lines at the base of the top fin and the end of the tail. For the scales, draw small arched lines around the body of the fish.
The final step is to go over the drawing of a fish with a darker pencil and erase all the extra drawing lines.
Then use crayons, watercolor paint, watercolor pencils, or markers to color in your fish.
