Start with the outline of the lion's face. Draw a slight M at the top of the face and a shallow curved line at the bottom.
Next, draw the outline of the mane. We like the idea of a "V" at the bottom of the mane but short lines or wavy lines create the hair around the lion's face.
Start by creating the front legs of the lion coming off the bottom mane of the lion and curving in towards the body of the lino.
Next, draw a similar mirror image of the front leg on the right side of the body of the lion.
Now, draw a U shape off the bottom of the front legs. This is the main body of the lion.
The next steps are to create the back legs of the lion. Starting on the left side draw an oval shape slightly diagonal from the left front leg and belly. Then draw a small curved line connecting the oval to the rest of the body of the lion.
Draw the second back leg similar to what you drew on the other side of the lion in the previous step.
Next, draw ears by drawing a triangle shape on the left side inside the mane with small lines at the bottom of the ear showing the ear peaking out of the lion's mane. Add a smaller oval shape within the larger oval shape of the lion's paw.
Draw the same lines and shapes for the ear and paw on the right side of the lion.
When drawing on the lion's facial features, we like to start with the lion's snout which contains the lion's nose and the lion's mouth. Draw an arch at the bottom of the face. Within the muzzle, draw an upside-down triangle for the nose, a small vertical line off the bottom of the nose, and a small curved line for the mouth. Above the muzzle draw two small circles with two smaller circles inside there other for the eyes. Lastly, add sideways shape raindrop shapes for the eyebrows.
Now you have your own cute lion. You can trace over the lines you have drawn with darker pencils, pens, or black markers.
The last step is to color in your lion and make it super cute and unique!
