Start by painting your rocks a bright and light color.

I picked light blue and yellow so that the colors of the rainbow would pop! You may need two coats of paint.

Wait until one coat is completely dry before applying the second coat. Let dry completely, and then flip, and paint the other side.

Once the rocks are dry, you can begin painting your rainbow.

I started with red, and then continued with orange, yellow, green, blue, and lastly, purple.

I then painted some cute little clouds with white paint at the end of the rainbows.

You can do the traditional arched rainbow, or just a half rainbow.
