Instructions

  • We started by cutting up about 10 piece of yarn per color approximately 8-10 inches in length.

  • Fill your bowl with a cup or two of Elmer’s White Glue. (P.S. The kids love helping with this part). Layout a piece of wax paper in front of each child.

  • We found it easiest to start with a longer piece of yarn to create the outside circle. Cover your piece of yarn with glue.

  • When you pull each piece of yarn out of the glue, have the kids run their hands along the yarn to get rid of excess glue.

  • Place onto wax paper. The yarn is pretty soggy, but make sure that each piece of yarn is touching another piece allowing for it to come together as one piece at the end.

  • We enjoyed talking about land and water and how sometimes the land is green and sometimes its brown. We also talked about the ocean and how important it is to no throw our trash on the ground because it could make its way to the ocean. Lots of fun things to talk about while doing this project!

  • Let dry at least 24 hours or more until its completely dry. Remove from the wax paper and hang.
