Instructions

  • First start by tracing the bowl onto the felt. I used a large jelly jar, but any bowl, or even CD will work to get you the approximate four inch circle. Next print your paper fortunes and cut out the strips of paper. Using the wire cutter, cut the wire slightly shorter than the width of the circle. Cut a piece of matching ribbon the same length of the wire. The next step is to hot glue the wire and the ribbon to the felt circle.  In order to find the halfway point of the circle, the easiest way is to fold the circle in half and pinch the center to mark the center. Place a line of hot glue down the center of the felt and place the wire on its halfway point. Add another line of hot glue on top of the wire and secure the ribbon on covering the wire.

  • Once the ribbon and wire are secure, place the fortune over the ribbon.
  • Fold the felt in half along the ribbon line
  • With your now half circle shape, fold the the sides towards each other bending the wire and forming a U shape.
  • Peel back one flap or both flaps slightly to give it the fortune cookie shape
