All of us with little ones have watched the Disney Channel at some point, or at least heard it as background noise. The other day I sat down for awhile and watched it with my two year old. There's this fun little cooking segment that comes on between shows. In this episode they were making

    Helado

Aka ice cream. It was so simple to make (too simple), that my first thought was, "yah right, like that's any good!" Fast forward a week, and there's a bunch of bananas on my counter starting to turn. Ugh, I'll try making the helado...what do I have to lose? I have all the ingredients: Bananas. (yep, that's it)

    1. Cut peeled bananas

    2. Put them in a plastic bag, then in your freezer

    3. When frozen put in food processor and process until smooth

Tip: don't put in too many at a time. As you can see in the picture they tend to glump up. They eventually broke down, but it took longer than it would've if I was more patient and did it in batches.

    Helado

This was so tasty, my kids ate it instead of the "real" ice cream I had in the freezer! I can't explain it, but it's delicious. Try it with raspberries, strawberries or chopped nuts on top. Thank you Disney Channel for this great, healthy dessert!
