Instructions

  • Print out the free printable template below.
    template fathers day tie
  • Trace your tie on any piece of paper you would like. We traced it on a piece of red paper and cut it out. For our tie design, we took the white paper, cut it into strips of paper, and then glued it on top of the tie. You can also decorate with small dots, a drawing, or whatever tie patterns you desire.

  • Cut a V shape out of a black piece of paper. For the actual card, we cut a white piece of cardstock the same size as the black and glued it to the back of the black V shape piece of paper. You could also fold the card base and glue V piece to the front of your card.
cut v out of top of black paper
  • Next, glue the tie to the top of the card lining up the top of the tie to the bottom of the V.

  • Cut two black triangles out of the second piece of a black piece of paper. These will be the shirt collars and should be the same length as the side of the V.

  • Fold the triangles in half.

  • Glue the triangles at the edge of the V as collar flaps. Viola, you have a cute shirt and tie craft for Father's Day. The last piece is to write your sweet message inside of the card.
