Why Make a Tie Craft for Father's Day?
Moms are expressive, so saying "I love you" with a ton of hugs and kisses is not a big deal. It's different when it comes to dads, though. They do better with actions. So, showing (not just telling) them what they mean to you and your kids would work wonders.
It is why I picked this tie shape craft for your preschoolers and toddlers. It's so much fun. Kids can decorate the front of the card however they like. Use fingerprints, draw a bunch of stars and hearts, or use real buttons and lace on their blank ties – it's entirely up to them. Allowing kids to choose what they want to do (and how) will boost their confidence and sharpen their creativity.
Crafting also improves a child's motor skills. So, even if Daddy doesn't wear a necktie to work (or ever!), your kids will benefit from this Father's Day craft. To make things smoother, I've attached a free printable tie template at the bottom of this post.
And, of course, the fun part - kids can write a loving message with a personal touch for Daddy on their crafts. What's the best part about it? It's an affordable Father's Day gift. Just a few craft supplies and ta-da! It's the perfect gift for kids of all ages!

Ideas for Decorating Father's Day Tie Cards
Out of ideas? No worries, I've got a few to shake up your creativity.
You can print black ties using the tie template below and draw patterns on them with a black marker. Make big patterns so it's easier for kids to color and paint. Even if you do this activity with a group, each tie card will look unique.
Another great idea is to print a picture of Daddy, cut it, and paste it on the tie. If your kid is a Marvel fan, he can draw a picture of Daddy as the Hulk - or any other superhero, for that matter.
Buttons, stickers, glitter, and lace – all these elements can make the Father's Day Tie craft more festive.

How to Make Shirt and Tie Craft For Father's Day
Print out the free printable template below.
Trace your tie on any piece of paper you would like. We traced it on a piece of red paper and cut it out. For our tie design, we took the white paper, cut it into strips of paper, and then glued it on top of the tie. You can also decorate with small dots, a drawing, or whatever tie patterns you desire.
Cut a V shape out of a black piece of paper. For the actual card, we cut a white piece of cardstock the same size as the black and glued it to the back of the black V shape piece of paper. You could also fold the card base and glue V piece to the front of your card.
Next, glue the tie to the top of the card lining up the top of the tie to the bottom of the V.
Cut two black triangles out of the second piece of a black piece of paper. These will be the shirt collars and should be the same length as the side of the V.
Fold the triangles in half.
Glue the triangles at the edge of the V as collar flaps. Viola, you have a cute shirt and tie craft for Father's Day. The last piece is to write your sweet message inside of the card.
We hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed making it for you!
