Paint the front of the paper plate whatever color you choose for the body of the owl.
Once the paint has dried, fold the sides of the paper plate forward creating owl wings.
Using another paint color, paint the folded wings.
Cut a U shape from the top of the plate. Cut from the top part of one wing to the other.
Glue two googly eyes in the middle of the paper plate. Have fun with your own owls and you can even glue two different size eyes for fun!
There are a few different ways to add the owl's beak. One way would be to use metallic markers or a black marker and draw a small upside-down triangle under the eyes. You can also cut a small triangle out of the extra piece of paper plate you cut off. Then glue it under the eyes. Lastly, using markers, draw squiggly lines on the wings representing feather details Viola, you have your own paper plate owls.
