This paper plate owl is a great project

My paper plate crafts have been receiving a lot of love from you all. Thank you! So, keeping the fun alive, today, I'm going to share with you another fun craft that's for kids of all ages - an owl paper plate craft. It's a fun way to keep the kids away from their tabs and teach a few things in the process.

This easy owl craft only includes a few folding steps, some coloring, and a tad bit of pasting. All these activities are a great way to improve your child's fine motor skills and teach them how to follow instructions.

You'll find all the details about the needed craft supplies and steps to follow at the bottom of the post.

However, before you start this fun craft, here are some tips on decorating, using, and taking care of your paper plate owl. Let's get going.

Decorating the Adorable Paper Plate Owl Craft

We'll all agree that decorating the craft is the best part of the process. It's fun to watch a plain paper plate come to life with the use of colors, wiggly eyes, plastic beads, and other craft materials.

Here are a few cute ways to decorate your child's first (or hundredth) cute little owl:

    • Apply glue to the folded sides of the plate and sprinkle some white glitter to make snowy owls.
    • Use a hot glue gun to stick another plate behind the little owls and stuff them with cotton.
    • Add a few colorful rhinestones to make the owl look like it's wearing an eye mask.
    • Cut some feathers out of construction paper and paste them on the back of the owl for a fluffy effect.
    • Make a funky owl using painted paper plates.
    • Stick some large googly eyes on a few owls to make them look alive.
    • Make yellow eyes using felt to make your owl look real.

Using Your Paper Plate Owl Crafts

These owls are great for making door hangers, bookmarks, or invitation cards. You can use them as a teaching aid to explain owls' body parts or use them for pretend play.

    Some other fun ideas include:

    • Make a few paper plate owls with different colors and use them as party decorations.
    • Stick magnets at the back of your owls and use them as fridge magnets.
    • Stick the little owls on popsicle sticks to make owl puppets.
    • Staple a few paper owls together to make an owl storybook.

Taking Care of Your Paper Plate Owls

Paper plate crafts don't require a lot of care. Just a little dusting and wiping, and they'll look as good as new. However, if you've used decorative supplies, be careful while wiping. You don't want them to come off.

Paper can get damaged if exposed to water and direct sunlight. So, if you're making a door hanger for your front door, cover it with a transparent plastic sheet or put some paint sealant on top.
