Think about it - a paper plate crab craft is the perfect way to bring a piece of the beach into your home. It's an easy crab craft that will remind the kids of the fun times they've had to play in the sand, collecting shells, and maybe even spotting little crabs. Plus, they'll end up with a cute crab to show off to their friends.
Crafting in the summer also has a great advantage - there's plenty of light! This means the kids can really focus on the details, like painting the paper plate red to make it look like a real crab's body or gluing the googly eyes just right to give their crab personality.

Crab Craft
Crafting is such an awesome way to keep kids entertained. It's not just about making pretty things; it's also about learning new skills, using their imaginations, and even learning a little about the world. In this case, our paper plate crab craft teaches them about a fun creature from the ocean.
Crafts like our crab paper plate craft are also excellent for developing fine motor skills. When the kids paint the paper plate, glue on the crab's eyes, or attach the crab arms and legs, they're learning to control their hands and fingers. These skills are important for things like writing, typing, and tying their shoes.
One of the best things about crafting, though, is the sense of accomplishment it gives kids. When they finish their paper plate crab and see how cool it looks, they'll feel proud of what they've done. And that's a feeling that can help them in all areas of life.

Leave one of the sides of the paper plate as the crab's body, and then cut whatever pieces out of the other side of the paper plate you can. Also use the piece of red paper to cut out the rest of the crab's claws and legs.
Assemble Crab's Body
Each piece will be glued to the back of the paper plate. The flat portion of the paper plate is the top of the plate and the front of the crab. The crab's arms should be glued out of the curve of the paper plate on each side. To the front claws should face out the side of the plate. and then the two rectangular strips of paper should go out the top of the paper plate.
Next, we drew some eyes out of the white pieces of paper. If you have large googly eyes, then you do not need to draw your eyes. Cut the eyes the size of a quarter.
