Spring Is In the Air
The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and Easter is around the corner. This means Springtime is here! When I think of Spring, I imagine pastel colors, soft flowers, and tiny baby animals. You may have noticed all the Spring decor lining the shelves at stores. Cute flower pots, Easter eggs in every color and size, and bunnies galore! My kids love checking out those little animals the most.
Bunnies have become a symbol to celebrate Easter in part because of old German folklore stories of an Easter Hare bringing colorful eggs to children, similar to Santa Claus and Christmas. Bunnies are also a sign of new life. Chicks, ducklings, lambs, and baby bunnies all bring forth images of Spring.
We highlighted these Spring Crafts along with some other fun kid's crafts in our April Crafts along with our Easy Kids Crafts.

How to Make Paper Plate Bunny Craft
Start by downloading and printing out the bunny parts template (at bottom of the post). Cut out each piece of the template.
Bunny's Head
Trace each of the pieces on different colored construction paper and cut them out.
Glue the cheeks on the bottom corners of the bunny's head. Also, glue the smaller ears (light pink) to the inside of the larger ears (white).
Glue the bunny ears to the back of the bunny's face. At this point, you can draw on the bunny's nose and mouth. Add the eyes provided from the template.
The next step is to add the head to the backside top of the plate.
The last piece is to glue the larger white circles (bunny feet) to the bottom back of the plate. Viola, you have a Bunny!
Alternative Ways To Make This Rabbit Craft
I often receive different questions with crafts like this about other ways to make it or alternative craft supplies to use. For this craft, there are lots of different ways to make this the perfect easter craft.
- One alternative is to make this the back of a paper plate bunny. In this case, no need to add the pinks pieces of paper and face to the bunny, and then using white pom poms or cotton balls add those to the middle of the paper plate to make bunny butts.
- Rather than using the eyes provided, you use googly eyes (wiggle eyes)
- The last piece is the type of glue to use. Typically for paper crafts, simple school glue or craft glue is great. If you want to use sticky tape or hot glue, those work too. Just remember to have a responsible adult along with little hands if using a hot glue gun.
Happy Crafting and Happy Easter!
