How To Draw an Owl
Before you start drawing, we also want to make sure you have the right tools. Here are the drawing supplies you need including drawing paper, and drawing pencils that we like to use.
Are you ready to make some cute owls with your kids? Let's get started with these simple steps.
Owl's Head
Start with the owl's head. We started with rounded square shape as the base and then small curved lines along as the feathers at the bottom of the owl's face. Try and draw a small curved line at the outside and top of the owl's head and then a straight line (horizontal line) joining them both.
Owl's Belly
The next step is to draw a half circle out at the bottom of the head as the owl's body.
Under each of the curved eye brown shapes, create two curved lines making them come to a point in towards middle of the owl's face. Draw two small wing triangular shape out the side of the owl's body.
Owl’s Legs
Draw two simple three curved lines out the bottom of the body. This is going to be the feathers on the owl's legs
Owl's Feet
An easy way to draw the owl's feet is to draw three long oval shapes for each foot out the bottom of the legs.
Next, draw a small upside down triangle shape with small curved top in the middle of the owl's face for the owl's nose. Also, add small short lines across each of the three oval shapes on each of the owl's feet.
Owl's Eyes
The last piece are the owl's eyes. Start with large circles right under the eyebrows. Then draw two more circles inside those circles.
The final step is to outline the cartoon owl with a black pen on the final lines and erase any extra lines you had while sketching the owl.
The last step is to treat your owl drawing as a coloring page and color it in with your favorite crayons, colored pencils, markers, or even watercolor paint. Now the only question is whether your new owl drawings are true owls, snowy owls, or artic owls!
