This Easy Paper Strip Pumpkin Craft is fun craft throughout the Fall season.

As the leaves start changing color and the days get a little bit cooler, it's clear that Fall is finally here. And you know what that means... It's pumpkin craft time! Actually it’s all things pumpkin time! Maybe you’re a pumpkin foodie or not, but most people are pumpkin décor-y people. Is that a thing?! Ha!

There's something so heartwarming about crafting with your kids this time of year. It’s cold outside and cozy inside. However if the weather is nice enough, take this on the back porch with a cup of hot apple cider and a Thanksgiving snack! So perfect!

I've got a fun fall craft that's perfect for this season - the Paper Strip Pumpkin. It's super simple, loads of fun, and you only need a few basic supplies to create your very own paper pumpkin patch at home!

Leaves are Falling, Crafts are Calling

Autumn is the time of year when the world is bursting with vibrant colors, the scent of spiced pumpkin lattes fills the air, and children squeal when they crunch of leaves underfoot.

It's also the best time for fall crafts. I mean, who can resist creating their own little pumpkins out of simple supplies like orange construction paper?

One of the best parts about this easy pumpkin craft is that you can use it EVERYWHERE! And I mean it!

It can be an exciting Halloween decoration, a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner, or just a charming addition to your coffee table.

And don't feel limited to only orange paper strips - feel free to explore with different colors! You can make white pumpkins, patterned pumpkins, or even glitter paper pumpkins. The possibilities are as endless as the colors of Fall leaves!

Plus crafts and activities aren’t just a fun way to spend time (though we can tell the kids that’s what it is!) They're also a great way to help your kids develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Education without them even realizing what’s happening!

So let's gather our orange, green, and brown paper and jump into the fun!

    Easy Fall Crafts for Kids

Crafts are always a hit with kids of all ages (even you!), and pumpkin crafts for kids are no exception. This Paper Strip Pumpkin Craft is easy enough for younger kids to enjoy, yet engaging enough to keep older kids interested too.

You could start with making a small pumpkin with 1-inch strips of paper. Once your child gets the hang of it, you can move on to a larger pumpkin with wider strips. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even mix and match paper colors and create different sizes and shapes of pumpkins. Don't forget to add the cute curly green stem at the top of the pumpkin! It’s a key feature of our beloved fall fruit!

This fun pumpkin craft can be made using different types of paper too. Construction paper, scrapbook paper, or even toilet paper rolls (looking at those of you with no craft supplies!) can be used to make your paper pumpkins. It’s time to experiment and have fun!

    Simple Paper Crafts

Paper crafts have always been a staple in our craft time! All you need are paper strips and a glue stick or tape or staples! It's amazing how these simple supplies can transform into an adorable pumpkin with just a little bit of creativity and patience.

Craft stores like Dollar Tree usually have all these supplies, but you can also use what you have at home too!

This paper strip pumpkin not only makes for a fun paper craft, but also creates a festive atmosphere in your home. So, let the magic of Autumn inspire you and your little ones to roll up your sleeves, break out the glue stick, and start crafting!

How To Make Paper Strip Pumpkin

    easy paper pumpkin craft

Start with printing out the free template. The easiest way is to print the template straight on orange cardstock.

step 1 print pumpkin strip template cut out of orange paper

Sharpen those scissor skills and cut out the orange strips of paper. There should be 10 pieces of paper varying in 10 different lengths

    Pumpkin Shape

step 2 layer strips according to length

Make two stacks with the strips with the long paper strips on the bottom lining up one end of each strip.

step 3 bring strips together and staple ends

Place the two stacks on top of each other with the shorter strips on the inside. Staple the ends together.

step 4 staple other end of paper strips

The next step is to bring all the strips from the opposite end together and lined up and then staple that end together. This will create the pumpkin shape.

    Pumpkin Stem

step 5 cut out a piece of brown paper fold in half and roll up on end

Grab a piece of brown paper and fold in half. From the folded end of the paper, cut out a strip of paper approximately the same width as the orange strips by 2 inches in length. Once you have the piece of paper, curl one end with a pencil or pen.

step 6 staple stem to one end of the pumpkin

Slip the un-curled end over one end of the pumpkin shape, so that the stapled orange pieces are inside the fold of the brown stem shape. You can now either glue the paper inside the brown piece, or staple it to create the pumpkin's stem.

step 7 cut two thin strips of green paper

Next, cut out two thin strips of green paper. If you cut one strip similar to the template, then cut that piece in half long ways.

step 8 roll green paper strips around a pencil

Wrap each of the pieces around a pencil to give it a ringlet shape.

step 9 staple ends of green paper to each side of stem

Glue or staple each of the pieces to the outside of the stem of the pumpkin.

Viola, you have cute pumpkins and a great fall craft!
