Supplies for Mickey Mouse Pumpkin
Creating your own Mickey Mouse Pumpkin starts with downloading my FREE pumpkin printable cut out template. You can grab the free printable template at the end of the blog post.
You will also need some crayons, markers, or colored pencils to decorate the front of your mickey mouse pumpkin. Also plan on having scissors and glue on hand to bring Mickey Mouse to life.
How to Make an Easy Paper Mickey Pumpkin Craft
Once you have your template, color each piece to your liking, my son chose to keep traditional colors for authenticity. He really loves the real ones at Disney and was so excited to have his own.
Decorate Mickey's ears with fun colors or for added fun use the hot glue gun and some different Halloween items. I love heading to the dollar store and grabbing plastic spiders and other Halloween decor items that give your pumpkin a spooky vibe.
Next, carefully cut out each piece. The mouth is the trickiest part because of the tiny details. It's okay if it's not perfect, just make it your own. If you have smaller kids who can't cut on their own yet, let them color and you do the cutting.
Another option is to print out the template on colored paper instead of white. You can just cut out the pieces and give them to your child to put together.
The last step is to glue the pieces together to make your Mickey Mouse Pumpkin! This is my favorite part and my son loved it too.
Using this Halloween Craft in Other Ways.
What's great about this simple craft is you can customize it in many ways. Here are just a few ideas. Turn it into a play-dough mat by laminating the completed Mickey Pumpkin. Then, give your child play-dough and let them create different faces on it.
You can also use the template to make these out of sturdy cardstock or chipboard. Then, create Disney Fall-themed decor for your home! Instead of letting your kids color, do it yourself and make it fancy. Pop it in a nice frame and hang up your art!
