This fun paper plate craft makes for a perfect New Years wreath. The perfect star craft for kids to make on New Years Eve.

  • Begin by having an adult carefully cut out the inner circle of the paper plate in one piece as much as possible.

  • Paint the remaining circle black. We used a decorative paper plate, as you can see, but any kind of paper plate will do. If yours has a design, as well, then you may just need two coats of paint. Let dry completely.

  • Now, draw simple stars of different sizes on the inner.

  • Cut out circle. You will need to get at least 4 stars.

  • Paint the stars bright yellow and an off-white, cream or a paler yellow color. Let dry.

  • Once dry, use the tip of the paintbrush to apply dots of yellow paint around the black circle.

  • And use a white marker to draw asterisks or more simple dots, too.

  • Next, write the numbers of the new year on the stars with the black marker.
