Start with a plain white paper plate.
Cut the paper plate in half.
Using your pen, draw a line around the base of the raised edge of plate.
Paint the outer edge of the watermelon with green paint.
Paint on lines of dark green around the outside of the plate approximately an inch apart.
Paint the inside of the plate with red paint.
Then add black dots sporadically throughout the red section of the plate.
The last piece of the watermelon craft is the popsicle stick. If you are using a color popsicle stick, grab the green one. If you only have a plain colored craft stick, then simply use a marker or paint and have them paint the craft stick green.
Glue the popsicle stick to the back of your watermelon. If this is a watermelon craft for preschooler, then using simple white glue will work and will need to dry for an hour or more. If the goal is to use this more as a fan, then you may want to glue the popsicle stick using hot glue. If that is the case, make sure there is adult supervision.
