They are the hottest trend in baby shoes right now. We became such huge fans of Freshly Picked when we started following them Instagram a while ago. It has been a thrill to have watched this small company grow and develop such a following and literally just Boom!
Freshly Picked was recently featured on Shark Tank! It was great to to watch Susan shine on Shark Tank. It made us love her and her company even more.
We at Diapers-n-Heels not only love to support mom-based small businesses but especially when those businesses are based on handmade products, we love to do what we can to get the word out!
Freshly Picked was started by mompreneur Susan Peterson, when she was on a quest for a well-designed baby shoe. After working through the Summer removing the aluminum casings around each of the old windows her brother was replacing (in his window business), she recycled them and used that money to buy a large piece of scrap leather and then taught herself how to sew. This was the beginning of Freshly Picked. Love that story!
Leather Baby Shoes
Needless to say, when we were asked to review a pair of shoes, we jumped (literally up and down) in excitement!
Just a few short days later, our coveted moccasins arrived. They came in this super cute little baggy... you know we're suckers for packaging!
We opted for the chrome pair in a size 2 to give our baby's feet a little growth room.
They fit her great and there was definitely room for some growth which is always a concern when buying baby shoes. The genuine leather moccs are incredibly soft but extremely durable as well.
After weeks of wearing them, there isn't the worry that we've had with other baby shoes that they will wear out or fall apart. Our sweet girl is just learning to walk. The super soft leather doesn't restrict her feet and toes from developing in the way they need, but still provides the coverage we want in a shoe. This, my friends is what I like to call Bonus Round!

There is elastic built into the top of the shoes. This is great at keeping the moccasins on. Because we're in Southern California we're finding that they also have a pretty great balance of keeping her little feet warm and cool when needed. Who doesn't love that?
