Wouldn't you know, I went and switched it up on you. While I am a HUGE fan of wreaths, I thought I would spice it up and create a great sign for your house with a wreath incorporated.
Supplies:
- Piece of Plywood
- Small twine wreath - I found my at the dollar store folks (don't spend tons when you don't have to)
- Small Pinecones
- Stencils
- Hot Glue Gun
- Paint
Alright, here's how I put together that fabulous JOY sign.
Directions:
First you start by scavenging your favorite pine tree for some pine cones. We have a huge tree in our front yard that drops about a BAZILLION each year and so the kids and I went for the hunt. I tried to keep the collections to the smaller pinecones and they fit better around the smaller wreath.
Then with can of gold spray paint, I painted both the wreath and the pine cones. Second step, paint your piece of plywood. I painted mine white, but if you're going for a more rustic look, it would also look great stained.
Next its time to bust out the glue gun. Glue each of the pine cones onto the twig wreath.
I applied the vinyl stencils. If you don't have a cutting machine, don't worry because there are so many easy options. You can get simple stencils at your local craft store, or you can free hand draw it. Keep it fun.
Last, using two small nails, you can attach the wreath to the board.
