Gather Your Supplies For Candy Cane Drawing
Before you start drawing your candy cane, gather all your supplies to make the process smooth and fun! You’ll need a piece of paper, a pencil for sketching, and an eraser for any adjustments.
To bring your candy cane to life, grab red and white markers, crayons, or colored pencils for the classic holiday stripes. If you want to add extra flair, consider using glitter pens or festive stickers for decoration.

How To Draw a Candy Cane
Start by printing out the Free Drawing of a Christmas Candy Cane with simple steps in our easy drawing tutorial at the bottom of the blog post. Follow along with a sheet of paper and pencil. Grab a delicious candy cane for sweet treats while you draw!
For the top of the candy cane, start with a small circle. Then draw a straight line down the side of the circle. Draw these in light pencil as they are going to be erased in the next step.
Next, outline the line and half of the circle to make the curl of the candy cane. Round both ends. Erase the inside lines from step 1.
Draw diagonal lines along the entirety of the candy cane.
Adding Holly and a Bow
Next, for the holly, start by drawing an oval off one side of the candy cane. Inside the oval then draw small curves with points along the outside line of the oval. Erase the outside oval and that will give you a holly shape.
Draw a second holly on the other side along with three small circles in the middle as the holly berries. Lastly, draw two ends of ribbon out the bottom of the berries.
Lastly, erase all the extra lines for the holly, berries, and ribbon and there you have a cute candy cane drawing.
We love to outline our finished drawing with black pen and then use your favorite coloring tools (crayons, colored pencils, or markers) to color in your drawing! The very popular candy it typically red and white, but you can color any color combinations your heart desires.
