What’s a mom to do when it’s 90+ degrees and you’re stuck at home with two kids because your husband has the car? Give a jump for joy when asked if we'd be willing to review a Backyard Ocean Pool!
This isn't just any old kiddie pool either. It was a 12’ X 30” inflatable ring pool, from Backyardocean.com.

I have to say, I was very intimidated by the parts and instruction manual. But I thought to myself, “Hey, I do have a master’s degree, my 4 year old is a genius (aren't they all?) and the baby was sleeping. We can do this!” After sifting through all the parts, we decided to give it a go.The filter system…I DID IT!!!!
This pool came with an awesome filter system, so we’re going to get to keep it up all summer, unlike our kiddy inflatable that calls on all mosquitos after one day in the back yard. After about 3 hours of intense labor, and the baby waking up, the pool was ready to go, and almost filled up. We hopped in, cooled off and started enjoying the water.Too hot in the sunshine for me!
The next day we went to the local pool store, Kohler Pool Supply, and with the help of Justin, got squared away on Conditioner, Chlorine, and Ph equalizer. I spent about $60, but the items I bought will last me a few summers. I run the filter every day for about 4 hours and test the water every few days to make sure I don’t get any funk growing in there. We put an ‘easy-up’ canopy over it to keep the sun off us and it’s turned into a total oasis. The kids and I love it. We’re in it at least every other day, sometimes more. Even Nana and Daddy hop in with us sometimes.Gotta love our Puddle Jumpers!
Thanks Backyard Ocean for giving us such a useful and enjoyable product for not only this Summer, but Summers to come! And wouldn't you know they are having a 40% off sale and offer free shipping on orders over $100? Who can pass that up?Mommy and Dylan, cooling off!Forgot to mention, pools are great for practicing your casting too!
The pools are great quality and definitely worth spending a some extra money having the filtration system to not have a kiddy mosquito bath sitting in your backyard after one or two uses!
