We all know that Made with HAPPY loves a good party right? Well, last week we attended a super fun "Home-gating" Party at hosted by my friends over at Momsmack and Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry. We spent the day chatting about parties, entertaining, football and of course FOOD! I mean, who doesn't love football party food right? How many of you are Tailgaters? Home-gaters? Our group was pretty split down the middle. Some enjoy the excitement of being there on game day, others enjoy the comforts of their own home. The one things did agree on, was that we like our football food tasty, but easy to make. In walks the "Go-To" football food, Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry. They are so versatile that you can create, apps, meals, desserts that can make any dish savory or sweet. We experimented with quite a few different recipes using those 60 flacky layers. Here were some that we came up with.
The Breakfast Pie - oh my gosh, this was so good, that I can't stop thinking about it. Eggs, sausage, and cheese in a pasty cup, makes for the perfect morning/mid-morning football celebration. They made some any time favorites including meatball subs in a Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Cups, and brauts in a blanket. The meatball subs were just mini-meatballs served with tomato sauce... DELICIOUS!We even had some sweet treats including Cinnamon Sugar Twist, Apple Tarts and this devine Strawberry Tart. One of my favorites football treats made with the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry are Empanadas. I made two different kinds, one was a meat and cheese and the other an herbed goat cheese filling. For the meat filled empanada, you simple cook up some ground sirloin or turkey like you would for tacos. Then using a round sandwich cutter, you cut circles out of the dough, then fill the inside with meat, cheese, onion. Fold over and press together using the sandwich maker and into the 375 degree oven for 15 minutes. Same process for the goat cheese empanada. The goat cheese empanada is great served with a black bean and corn salsa as well as a roasted salsa.
So many great foods can be made with Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry for your football entertaining. Its a go to item that is always in my freezer and so should you.
HAPPY HOME-GATING! HAPPY TAILGATING!
