How To Draw a Football
Start by printing out the free Football Drawing Step-by-Step Guide at the bottom of the post. Follow along with a sheet of paper and pencil.
Start by drawing an oval shape.
Next, on each of the ends of the oval, draw two slightly curved lines closer together with a curve direction similar to the end of the oval shape. The two lines are essentially the thick line of the football.
The next step is to draw the grips of the football. Start with two small straight lines in the middle of the football with curved ends connecting them creating the middle finger grip. Then add similar shapes with a slight curve off each side of the middle grip. Draw three on each side from the middle.
Next, draw a straight line from one end of the oval to the other end. Next, add two straight lines slightly off the middle line but only through the football finger grips from the previous step.
Now you have your own football drawing easy.
The last step is to trace over the light lines you have drawn in pencil with a pen or marker.
The final step is to color in your football. We colored ours in simple brown and white, but some added fun would be to place some small black dots all over the surface of the ball or add your favorite team logo to the ball. Heck, you can even draw some end zones to your drawing. The important thing is to have fun!
