Chinese Dragon
The dragon is a well-regarded powerful symbol within Chinese culture and Eastern cultures. The dragon is folklore of many cultures considered to be lucky and good. This is of course the opposite of the evil fire-breathing dragon you might have seen in the Middle Ages or dragons portrayed in Western cultures. Cute dragons to draw make my drawing heart happy!
Regardless of the type of dragon you think of when you think of dragons, we love all things dragons and featured them in a few of our Chinese New Year's crafts and Chinese New Year's Printables.

Now how to draw a dragon is cute!!
How to Draw A Cute Dragon Step By Step
One of the first things is to start by placing your paper in a vertical position. This means that the long edge of your paper should be running up and down. We want your dragon drawing to have enough room for the body, that is why we are having you start with your sheet of paper in the vertical paper position.
Dragon's Head
The first step is to draw a circle for the head of the dragon. This is going to be the face of the dragon, so it should be no larger than half the length of the paper.
Dragon's Body and Dragon's Legs
The second step is to draw the front legs. I like to start from the bottom of the head and draw a curved line down towards the bottom of where you want the bottom of the dragon drawing to be. Draw a second one as the outside of the other leg. Then draw the inside of each of the legs the same length. Round the bottom of the legs. Connect the legs in the middle with a small line which creates the rest of the body of the dragon.
The next step is to add the back legs. Draw a smaller circle or oval on the outside bottom portion of each of the legs.
Drawing Dragon Tail and Wings
The next step is the ears and dragon's wings. We are going with cute easy dragon wings and not the large complicated ones. We simply drew each ear as more of a small wing-like figure coming from the sides of the top of the head.
The next step is to draw the tail. Draw a small arrow-type tail coming off the side of one of the back legs. We added a triangle to the top of the tail to give it a little detail. The key is to draw basic shapes and then when you color it in, it can come to life.
The next step is to add the lines to the forward part of the body. This will make the belly distinct from the legs. Next, add small hill shapes almost a half-circle to the bottom of each of the four legs to make the dragon's feet or paws.
Drawing a Dragon Head
The next step is to add the horns and face. We like to start with two small circles in the middle of the face for the dragon's eyes. Add a smaller circle on the inside of the first circle to define the eyes. Draw another circle in the second eye. I like to add a small curved line to the upper outside of the eyes as little eyebrows. Makes your dragon extra sweet and cute.
Add small triangle shapes or small protrusions as horns starting right above the eyes. We added two on the face and one at the top of the head. then add two tiny circles as the nose and a half-circle as the smile.
Now you have your own cute dragon. You can trace over the lines you have drawn in pencil with a pen or marker.
The last step is to color in your dragon and make it super cute and unique!
