The first step is to draw a simple circle. If you are looking for a perfect circle, use can trace around a cup or any round object you have lying around the house.
Basketball Seams
The next step is to draw a slightly curved vertical line from the top of the basketball to the bottom of the ball. I like to start it slightly off-center to the right and end slightly off-center to the left, but that is up to you. The second line is to draw another slightly curved line, a horizontal line in the top third of the basketball curving upward creating a type of cross.
The next step is to start at the edge of the ball between the first two lines in the top right corner of the basketball. Draw a slightly curved line inward towards the horizontal line until you cross that line and then curve back out and then down ending on the edge of the ball in between the two cross lines in the bottom left corner.
The next line is similar, but on the right side making it a bit more curved.
The last step is to get all the lines where you want them and erase those you do not want. Trace over the lines with a dark pencil line or black marker.
Finally, we always love the idea that are final drawings is more of a basketball coloring page and using markers, crayons, or colored pencils, color in your basketball.
From here, a fun step would be to try and draw your favorite team logo on it, or attempt at a basketball hoop in the back. The most important part is to have fun with it.
