Month of October

October is a month filled with the warmth of autumn and the excitement of seasonal traditions. Known as the tenth month of the year, October gets its name from the Latin word "octo," meaning eight, as it was the eighth month in the ancient Roman calendar.

This month is famous for its beautiful fall foliage, with trees displaying brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow. October is also home to some fun celebrations, including National Pumpkin Day and, of course, Halloween, where spooky fun and creative costumes take center stage.

Plus, did you know that October often has two full moons, one of which is called the "Hunter's Moon"? It's a month packed with seasonal charm and plenty of reasons to celebrate!

October Federal Holidays

In October, there is a federal holiday known as Columbus Day, which falls on the second Monday of the month. This day celebrates Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas on October 12, 1492.
