This post is brought to you by The New Santa Fe from Hyundai .
This past weekend was one of the best family weekends we’ve had in quite a while. Hyundai invited us up to Santa Barbara to the Dos Pueblos Ranch to an EPIC play date with some new friends. Also happens to be a perfect excuse to turn it into a family weekend getaway, so we did just that and made a whole weekend of it. I am so glad we did because we truly had an EPIC time.
The Dos Pueblos Ranch was just a few miles north of downtown Santa Barbara and was a perfect backdrop for the fun filled day of play.
The morning started out mingling with the other families in this fabulously characterful barn (if I read the history right was built in the 1800’s).
It was then off to play our way through 6 fun filled workshops created by some of my favorite all time bloggers including Heather Armstrong of Dooce, Maggie Mason of MightyGirl, Liz Stanley of SayYestoHoboken, Rebecca Wolf from GirlsGoneChild, Charlie and Andy (The Dads) from HowtobeADad and well my big old blog crush (I seriously was standing next to her the whole day and couldn’t get a single word out… yeah, that kind of blog crush… Oye! Jordan Ferney of OhHappyDay. I digress…
We spent A TON of our day playing with lots and lots and lots of hula hoops and extra large beach balls. Did I say A LOT of balls?
Our favorite workshop of the day would have to be the sand art which allowed each kid, or in our case family, a square to decorate with the different colors of sand. DNH Girl absolutely LOVED THIS!!!
We build rockets!
We made swords out of balloons. We made costumes out of aluminum foil. We drew on chalkboards. We danced. We skipped.
The best part of the day was spending quality time as a family!
Thanks for the fun Hyundai!
