In attempts to finish at least ONE project in this house of ours, I have, over the last few weeks, been frantically attempting to finish our Home Office Makeover!
All was about complete with the exception of this poor little out-of-place bookshelf that has been with me since my swinging singles days. Although this sweet little piece has done well for me all these years, it's just not right for the room. Too small, too much piled on it, and no doors to block little hands from constantly pulling its content onto the floor for funzies.
In any case, over the past year, I have been scoping out the ideal piece of furniture for the spot. My ideal solution was a craft cabinet. Of course, the only one that I found that was peaking my interest was that of Ms. Martha Stewart and Home Depot which cost around $400. Out of my price range and you have to put it together... boo!
So what is another option? My only other option was to check the local consignment shops till I find something I could convert to my ideal craft cabinet. After two months of looking and about 10 consignment stores and garage sales later, I came across this buffet!

After consulting my interior specialists (Amanda and my sister) and a couple running-man happy dance moves later, this baby went home with me. What? Doesn't everyone do a happy dance when you find what you want for cheap?
It took about 10 minutes of being home before the hardware was removed and sanding began!
Then it was off to the Depot for supplies and less than $15 later I had all I needed. I used an oil based spray primer and conveniently the color I was planning on painting it came in spray paint! WIN-WIN!!
A day to primer and a day to spray it (2 coats) and by the end of the weekend it was in my office ready to be filled with all kinds of crafts.
I found the cute knobs at my favorite… Anthropolgie!
The lighting, and of course the photographer's lack of skills, are unfortunately not capturing the richness of the color. The color is actually deeper blue green.
In any case this was the last piece to my Home Office Makeover. I have to take a few more pictures of the room complete and then I will be sharing the finished product with you all.
So what do you think of the new MWH Craft Organizer?
