Strawberry Love
You know we love a colorful rainbow more than…well, just about anything! But we also love finding rainbows of colors wherever we go – at the park, at the beach, and even at the grocery store! That’s right, we’ve been known to linger among the fruits just to admire all that bright color. One of our favorites among the fruits? The strawberry!
We’re pretty sure we’re not alone in our love for these juicy and delicious berries. Strawberries are the most widely grown fruit crop in the world. They are grown in every state in the United States and almost every country in the world. Americans eat about 8 pounds of these beautiful berries each year!

Strawberry Painting
So, we’re honoring this sweet treat with a simple and fun craft the whole family can do together: strawberry-painted rocks. This is a great crafts project for those who insist they are not crafty (which is impossible. We’re all crafty in our ways!). These strawberry rocks are very forgiving – just like the little fruits themselves – they always look good! (Seriously, you can’t mess these up.)
But we don’t just love these painted rocks because they are fun and easy, they’re also super versatile. You can use them as truly original and unique garden decorations to wow your friends and neighbors. You could use them as a fun centerpiece at a backyard picnic. (Bonus: they make excellent weights to put on a pile of napkins on windy afternoons.) Or you could create your own painted rock garden.
Another great idea is to place them next to your strawberry plants as plant marker for your strawberry crop.

Strawberry Stone Painting
Getting the few supplies, you’ll need for this craft can be a fun activity in and of itself. Kids love hunting for rocks – especially if they are looking for certain shapes or sizes. Whether it's small rocks from the beach or even river rocks.
Aside from the rocks, you’ll need paintbrushes and acrylic paints. Acrylic paints are easy to find and inexpensive. They allow you to paint on any type of surface and dry quickly. Not only will acrylic paint adequately cover the rocks, but they’ll also stand up to outdoor weather better than other types of paint as they are more durable.
Of course, you’ll need a shiny strawberry red, black for the seeds, and green for the stem, but you could get crazy and make some strawberries painted white. It’s true. There is a variety of strawberries that is actually white (with red seeds). You may even get inspired to paint other fruits for a full rainbow-colored rock fruit basket. But be careful, if you make them too realistic looking, you’ll have to put out a sign that says, “do not eat.”
Painted rocks are a fabulous way to brighten up any indoor or outdoor space. You and your kids will love crafting these one-of-a-kind painted strawberry rocks and will have just as much fun brainstorming all the different ways to display them!

How To Paint A Strawberry On A Rock
Start by having your children hunt for some rocks and clean them. Then set them up with the paint colors on a paper plate and then they are ready to get started.
Paint the entire rock with red paint (tip: place a bit of putty on the back of the rock to stick it to your craft surface while painting).
Paint the top of the rock with green leaves. Then place a tiny dab of black paint as well as white paint as seeds all over the rock. Another fun way to add the seeds is to use different color paint pens.
Seal with a coat of Mod Podge (optional). For the best results to keep the high quality of the paint in tacks, the simple trick of sealing the painted rocks.
Allow to completely dry. If you are looking to make it a magnet, then glue the magnet to the back of the rock using your hot glue gun. This fun project makes them look like real strawberries.
