Halloween Cocktail Ideas

Halloween is such a fun time for parties. Costumes, cocktails, and fun!

In the early years of our marriage, my husband and I hosted a Halloween party every year. Friends and family would show up in the best of costumes and we would celebrate with signature Halloween-themed cocktails and have the best time throughout the night.

That's when these alien cocktails made their first appearance.

Alien Themed Cocktail

This is a super yummy cocktail, that's not super high in alcohol. To me, it tastes just like a pack of Smarties. My friends thought it tasted like Skittles. Let me know what you think it tastes like!

After I finished making my Mossy Marsh Balls appetizer, I mixed up these cocktail recipes and we started to come up with fun names. Some of the names we came up with were alien secretion cocktail, alien urine sample, and alien brain hemorrhage shot recipe. After realizing an alien secretion drink wasn't what I wanted at my party, we ended with an Alien Invasion Halloween Drink.

Ingredients for Alien Invasion cocktail:

• 2 oz Cointreau (or Triple Sec)
• 1 oz Blue Curacao
• 1 oz Chambord
• 3 oz of Red Bull

How To Make an Alien Cocktail

I found these cute little alien figurines at Target. When I got them home, I washed them in warm soapy water.

I pulled out my star ice cube tray, filled it with water then put the alien dudes in. These should fit in just about any ice cube tray, but for this, I thought stars would be fun.

I put them in the freezer for a few hours, then they were ready to go.

When ready to serve, mix this in a cocktail shaker with ice.

Pour into a short or highball glass with an alien dude ice cube. Enjoy!

Alternatives to Alien Themed Cocktail

There are many alternatives to this sweet cocktail. We love the blue color made from blue curaçao, but if tropical flavors are more your style, you can make an alternative cocktail with equal parts a melon liqueur, coconut rum, and pineapple juice. This fruity cocktail is a green color, but just as fruity flavor fun!
