How to Make Apple Cider Sangria Recipe
Combine all ingredients into a pitcher. Cut up the apples into cubes removing the core and seeds. Add the apple slices to a pitcher, punch bowl, or glass carafe, and then chill overnight.
Serving it cold is my favorite. I've been known to add an ice cube or two to my glass. The perfect sangria with warm flavors yet refreshing!
Make sure there is a good portion of apples in each glass for a fabulous happy hour. If you're looking to serve this for holiday dinners, add a whole cinnamon stick to each glass to make it more festive!
It's not only delicious but refreshing and something you're going to want all year long (I love it throughout the Summer months). There is no rule that says you can't have this drink before Labor Day!
Cheers my friends and Happy Fall!
Alternative Fall Sangria Recipes
There are many variations to a fall harvest sangria based on your taste and weather.
Some prefer a red wine sangria recipe (classic sangria) or if you are like us in the West or in the South, the idea of cool Fall weather is a ruse. We sit in our boots and hats in 80-degree high heat weather and crave all the cool drinks of Summer. In those cases, you would want to stick to the white wines.
Some Fall sangria recipes call for apple brandy, orange liqueur (triple sec), and simple syrup. We a big fan of brandy cinnamon and wine apple cider warm served with orange slices too.
Frequently Asked Questions about Fall Sangria
How far in advance should you make sangria?
That is the beauty of sangria, it can be made as early as 48 hours in advance to up to the hour before. The longer the fruit soaks up the mixture of flavor, the more enhanced it becomes. I like to aim for 8 hours the night before.
What season do you drink sangria?
Sangria is a magical cocktail that can be enjoyed all year round. Sangria can be served chilled or warm, depending on the weather. It can be made with white wine and red wine. Depending on the weather, the season of the fruit, and taste buds, there are many variations no matter what season you would like to enjoy it.
What kind of apple is best for sangria?
When choosing the best apple for your sangria, it's important to understand what kind of flavor you are looking for in your cocktail. If you are looking for a more tart sangria, then a granny smith or other green apple variations would be great.
For a milder flavor, a gala apple or fuji apple might be a better choice.
