Build your own Crayon ox

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was spectacular. Not terribly busy but full of family fun as well as getting the house in shape. Yesterday was the first day of Fall, and can I tell you, it may have been something in the air, but it certainly felt like Fall at our house. It was like the trees in our backyard knew what day it was and dropped all their leaves the night before. With that said, I spent a good hour raking up and gathering all the leaves. Now if it was just start to cool down a bit more, then I can definitely get in the Fall spirit.

This is an exciting week, at our house! Our sweet baby boy turns 2 next weekend!!!

TWO YEARS OLD... So many questions going through my head following this statement.

Holy Moly. How did that happen?
Where does the time go?
How should we celebrate?
Birthday gifts... what do you get a two year old?

While trying to wrap my head around the first three questions, I definitely have an idea on the fourth one! You are all going to think I'm crazy right now, but in walks Staples.

Of course we all know that Staples is where we go for our office supplies, but did you know that they have teamed up with some of our favorite kid learning brands (Leapfrog, Melissa and Doug, and a DNH Super Fav - Crayola) for back to school? AMAZING.

Alright, so you know how DNH Girl started Pre-K a few weeks back? Well I had a list of back-to-school supplies like a mile long (I KNOW... we shall discuss this later) and so I stopped in to Staples to take a look. Little to my surprise, I found that not only did they have all the supplies I needed to get, but they had added this fantastic section on learning toys.

Awesome right? It caters to kids from 1 year and up!!! (Learning toys + 2 year old = Happy Mommy)

It was about this time while grinning ear to ear that I started towards the end of the aisle, and I stumbled across one of the most most amazing things EVER!!! I mean, as a self proclaimed crafting junkie, and with a mini-me who is well... my mini-me crafting junkie, I almost lost my noodle when I saw this!

Yes my friends, that is a build your own crayon box! BRING ON THE CHEERS!!! Brilliant idea staples and crayola! I mean where have you been all my life? They clearly understand that my girl loves pink and yellow and so the 25 pictures we draw each day of butterflies and flowers use up all the pinks and yellows. Now, I can go back and stock up on just those rather than having to buy the whole rainbow. LOVE THIS!!!
