We are so excited for this new fun Bachelor in Paradise Drink Series. This week as things were heating up in paradise, we decided we'd heat things up back home with this Spicy Watermelon Margarita.
There is a secret ingredient to our Made with HAPPY Margaritas that take them from delicious to over the top UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!Tajin!!!! This my friends is the most addicting "seasoning" EVAH! It is so good on fruits and veggies and well pretty much everywhere. If you don't have any, please go HERE and buy the two pack. You will not regret it!
Funny side story. While I was pregnant with Made with HAPPY Girl and I was working in a corporate office 9-5, I would run errands at lunch and for some reason found myself at Walmart. There was a huge display of Tajin and they were selling them for 99 cents. So I bought two. I thought, I'll take one home and have one at work so that I could add it to my lunch. Well, as it sat at my desk, I would find myself just pouring a little bit in my hand and eating it throughout the day. Till finally one of my friends and co-workers finally pointed out that on the lid it says "This is not candy" and proceeded to take it away from me. It was a good idea since I was eating it like candy. Silly pregnancy cravings.
In any case, this is totally my opinion, but I believe its the Tajin on the rim of the glass that makes this spicy watermelon margarita over the top delicious.
Okay, so without further adu, here is how you make these deliciousness
Spicy Watermelon Margaritas
- 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
- 1-2 cups white tequilla
- ⅓ cup lime juice
- ½ cup triple sec (orange liquor)
- 2 tablespoons simple syrup
- ½ - 1 thinly sliced jalepeno
First start by blending up the watermelon. It just takes a few seconds and it will become liquified. Depending on your blender and if you are looking for a smoother consisitency, you may want to filter the juice through a cheese cloth or strainer. It doesn't bother me, so I just pour it right into the pitcher from there.
Next, add the tequilla, triple sec, simple syrup, lime and jalepenos. Depending on the level of spicy, you may want to adjust. If you want a little heat, a half jalepeno, but really one jalepeno is great!
Stir all ingredients together and it is ready to serve.
Don't forget the rim of the glass and the Tajin. Using a slice of lime, coat the outside of the glass with lime juice and then coat with the Tajin. It is all kinds of tangy delicious.
I like serving with a small watermelon slice on the rim as well as a slice of lime and slice of jalepeno.
