Some fun facts about Memorial Day

The day is observed on the last Monday in May.
The longest-running Memorial Day parade has taken place in Ironton, Ohio since 1868
There's a special way to raise the American flag on Memorial Day. The proper way to raise the flag on Memorial Day is to first raise it quickly to the top of the pole, then slowly lower it to half-mast until noon, and then back to the top for the rest of the day.
