How to Make the Name Craft
Now that you have your materials, the first step is to write your child's name on the white paper. I printed these because I have bubble-style fonts but you can easily write the name no printing is necessary. Then, take the colorful sheets and cut small sections into little shapes. If you have an older child, let them do this part on their own to practice those scissor skills.
I cut the big sheet of paper into small squares and then cut those squares into tiny shapes. It ends up looking a little bit like confetti!
The next step is adding glue to the letters of your child's name and letting them decorate using the little colorful shapes. I had my kids do it at random but you can do it in a pattern. For example, have your child start with red, then yellow, then orange to make a rainbow pattern on their name. This craft is easy to customize any way you like.
Once your child has filled in their whole name, set the page aside to dry. When it's dried completely, it's time to add watercolor!
Since this is a rainbow-themed craft, it's perfect to make the rest of the page blue to signify the sky. I also chose watercolor because it's easy to use for kids of all ages and dries faster than paint. You can use what you have on hand whether its crayons, markers, dot markers, or even add scraps of blue paper to make the sky.
Here's what it looks like when it's done:
There you have it! A super easy, fun, and even educational Rainbow Name Craft for Kids you can do anytime.
