How To Make a Craft Hot Air Balloon
Cut the toilet paper roll in half. Cut out a brown construction paper according to the length and circumference of your tissue paper roll.
*If you don't have a toilet paper roll, you can substitute it for a small paper cup or pieces of egg cartons.
Download and print the hot air balloon shape template at the bottom of the post. Cut out 8-10 colorful balloons out of different colors of construction or cardstock paper.
Fold the balloon shapes in half-long ways.
Apply glue on one half of the balloon.
Join another half side of a balloon shape with the first piece.
Cut out 5-6 pieces of string or twine.
Glue one piece of string between two of the balloon shapes.
Continue gluing all the balloon pieces together
Using your small hole punch or awl, create a hole at the bottom of each of the glued-together pieces. There should be at least four holes.
Feed your pieces of string through each of the holes
Tape the ends around the outside of the toilet paper roll to create a small basket.
Next, glue the brown strip of paper around the outside of the toilet paper roll to cover up the attached strings.
From here we like to glue thin strips of paper around the outside of the brown paper to create a basket look. This is great if you are going to use these as hot air balloon decorations for a party.
