What is Groundhog Day?
Groundhog Day is a one-of-its-kind tradition that is celebrated on February 2nd every year. It predicts whether there will be six more weeks of winter or an early spring. How?
Well, when the winter cold starts fading away, groundhogs come out of hibernation. If they see their shadow, they'll get frightened and retreat to their burrows (groundhogs are shy creatures). This indicates that winter will last for a few more weeks. But if they don't see their shadow, it means that the weather is pleasant and spring will arrive soon! Interesting, right?

Start with drawing a general shape of the body. Groundhogs have a longer nose and mouths. Then draw two smaller front paws. Then draw a rounded back and rear. Similar to drawing a bunny.
Next, add short lines accenting the head, the front of the chest, the belly, and the legs.
Groundhog Tail
The next step is to draw the tail of the groundhog. Drawing a bushy tail out the end of the groundhog's body.
Groundhog Face
Start the groundhog face with a small oval toward the tip of the nose with a shorter curved line off the middle of the oval and curve it down and in for the mouth. Next, draw smaller circles above the nose for the eyes. Lastly, draw a curved line for the ear.
Viola, now you have your own cute groundhog. You can trace over the lines you have drawn in pencil with a pen or marker.
