Michael's Summer Camp For Kids has started my friends!

For those that may not know, Michaels is the largest specialty arts and crafts retailer in North America. Each Summer they offer free instructor-led classes for kids in 6+ age groups.

There are four different ways to participate in Michaels Summer Camp!

In-Store - Fun in person.
Live Online - Check out times online
On Demand - Classes are recorded so you can follow along when you want.
Self Guided - Follow along with the instruction activity booklet and go at your own pace

This week, Made with HAPPY Boy and I were super excited about having our first CAMP of the Summer. We went to our local Michaels on Monday to let our creativity run wild!

Michaels Camp Creatology

This week kicks off the first of 7 weeks of Michaels CAMP Creatology formally known as Michael's Camp Creativity. So cool you guys! Camp Creatology is designed for kids ages 6 and older.

Each session begins at 10 am and has two projects plus a journal activity coloring page. Each week has a theme like this week was Land of the Dinosaurs, which is absolutely perfect because we happen to have the local world-famous all-knowing dinosaur-loving little boy on our hands. 🙂

Michaels Summer Camp

As a mom, I can't say enough about the amazing experience my kids had at Michael's Summer Camps during their summer break. The detailed instruction booklet and exciting new project kits from Michael's stores kept them engaged and inspired throughout Camp Creativity and Camp Creatology classes.

With the free kids' summer craft classes held on Saturday afternoons, my kids eagerly looked forward to each week's project, using Michael's own Creatology brand supplies and extra materials.

The camp was held in their maker's classroom in the store, and you have the ability to drop your kids off while you shop or stay and join in the fun. We all know I love to make, so I stayed. I am so glad I did because it was an absolute blast.

Different Camp Projects

As I mentioned before this week was Dinosaurs and Made with HAPPY Boy (MWH Boy) made two different dinosaur crafts during his camp. The first was painting on canvas and tracing and cutting.

Each year's project theme changes, so if dinosaurs aren't your jam, that is okay, they have a number of projects that are sure to be a hit.

It's so great seeing how each kid was able to take a project and then add their own creativity to their project, like the volcano my son decided needed to be added!

Project Themes

The second dinosaur project was also a big hit! They made pterodactyls out of clothes pins, paper, and googly eyes.

The kids had a lot of fun with this project because they were not only able to have fun creating and making, but it allowed their imagination to run wild and transport them to the land of the dinosaurs!

Our first class was an absolute blast and I know our Made with HAPPY Camper is excited to go back to Summer camp throughout the Summer to see what the other themes have in store.

I would highly recommend signing your kids up either at local Michaels or online. Summer will be over before you know it and Michaels' Camp Creatology is totally what the kids need! A place to express their creativity by making something fun, let their imaginations run wild and unplug from technology for at least a couple of hours during the summer months. MOM WINNING!
