Here's a fun way to celebrate New Year's Eve using your Christmas tree. Decorate the tree to make it a New Years' Eve Tree. We'll show you how.

New Years Ideas For Young Kids

I grew up in a house with simple and fun holiday traditions. When we had our son, holidays instantly became that much more exciting and fun for me. I got to experience them through his eyes and I knew I wanted to start traditions of our own. One of those traditions is a New Years' Eve Tree.

It is so fun to decorate and even more, fun to see the little love’s eyes light up when he wakes up and sees it for the first time.
On the night of December 30th, after we put the kids to bed, we will get started on decorating the New Years' Eve Tree. We take all the Christmas ornaments down and in their place put streamers, party hats, noisemakers, and balloons. Bonus round- the balloons are filled with coins!
Here’s a picture of our tree last year

Because I like to crank the heater in our house, our tree was a little bit…um…shall way say...crispy last year. So to make sure the balloons didn’t pop on their own, we tied them to string and then hung them up that way.

    NYE decorations

I went to the party store yesterday and stocked up on bright, colorful, and of course, glittering New Year's Eve decorations.

As I laid out all the decorations, the kids of course wanted to get in the spirit already… and how I could I say No ALL.DAY.LONG! ON December 31st he asked if it was time to pop the balloons. Finally that night, after what must seem like an eternity for him, we put on our hats, make some noise, and let him go to town popping his balloons and collecting his money for his “money pig”

It truly is such a fun way to finish off the year. Happy New Years Tree decorating! And Happy New Year! Next year, we are ready for you
