DIY Halloween Costumes

There is something so fun about making your own Halloween costumes.

Growing up, that was the only way we would "do" Halloween. My Mom would help my sister and I bring our Halloween costume ideas come to life.

This DIY Pink Flamingo Halloween costume gives me all the fun feels and I cannot wait to wear it to our next Halloween party.

I am seriously in love with this simple flamingo headband and it takes just a few supplies to make it.

What you need to make this Flamingo Halloween Costume

Plastic Pink Flamingo Head
Headband
X-acto knife - Here is my favorite
Tape
Twine

No need for hot glue guns or feather boas with this costume.

How to make this DIY Costume

Start with measuring the headband on the flamingo.

Make two marks where the headband would exit with the crown of the headband in the flamingo. Its safer to space your lines wider rather than closer together.

With the X-Acto, but slit into the bottom of the flamingo. Make sure its wide enough for your thick headband.

Next, I'm going to share how you can guide your headband through the two slits. On one end of the headband, tie one end of the twine in a knot.

Secure the knot with a piece of tape.

Cut the twine about a foot long.

Using a piece of tape, tape the other end of the twine. Feed the unsecured end of the twine through one hole and out the other and pull the end of the headband through.
